ElectroChem Awarded Contract with NASA
ElectroChem has been awarded a Phase I SBIR from NASA to develop “Advanced On-Board Energy Storage Solutions for Balloons”. The technology developed would be for storing electrical energy for long duration of 12 hours or more of darkness for balloon payloads. Lithium Ion rechargeable batteries which are the current state of the art, have energy densities of only 60 Watts hour per kilograms. ElectroChem’s RFC (Regen Fuel Cell ) solution utilizing its patented Integrated Flow Field (IFF) design technology is targeting to reach 400 to 450 wh/kg.

ElectroChem Presenting Paper at the PEFC and H² Forum in Lucerne
Dr. Radha Jalan, President and CEO of ElectroChem, Inc. will be presenting the paper titled, Novel Integrated Flow Field (IFF) Design for Higher Performance in fuel cell and Electrolyzers. Integrated Flow Field (IFF) design is a highly efficient structure where product water inside the stack is removed passively without the need of any ancillary equipment. It is a high efficiency design for multiple applications.

President of ElectroChem Participating at DOE AMR in Arlington, VA in June
Radha Jalan, Ph.D. will be attending the Department of Energy’s Annual Merit Review in Arlington, VA. The merit review will run from June 8th through June 12th. Dr. Jalan will also be a session reviewer.
