In order for a PEM fuel cell to work, a polymer membrane is needed that will carry the hydrogen ions from the anode to the cathode without passing the electrons that were removed from those hydrogen atoms.
The last digit in the product number represents the THICKNESS in mils (thousands of an inch. For example — the Nafion™ 115 is 5mils thick, the Nafion™117 is 7mils thick.
