New Products for a System Design
Since PEM fuel cells are being used in the development of products, based on ElectroChem’s experience with fuel cell system design, the Company is introducing some new products for integrating in the product design.
A 316 Stainless Steel pressure regulator, with a weight of only 66 grams is an ideal product. A frictionless, two-stage design allows the regulator to maintain a consistent outlet pressure to the fuel cell even when there may be wide swings in the inlet pressure.
The moisture trap is a key component for removing excess water efficiently from a PEM fuel cell exhaust stream and recirculate this water into humidifier water supply vessel. The moisture trap is also useful in preventing the flooding of the back pressure regulators.
RFCS for Satellites – Fuel Cell Analysis Study Performed and Delivered
ElectroChem was approached by Abengoa Hidrogeno, located in Spain for conducting a study for a PEM fuel cell stack for a RFCS (regenerative fuel cell system) operating in a space environment. The main driver was the minimum possible mass. Electrochemist successfully completed the study with various configurations of both single and multiple stacks. It was determined that in all the different scenarios, ElectroChem’s Integraged Flow Field (IFF) design provided maximum benefits.A discussion of further work is underway…
